soothing sights - grokulsky interiors

Wednesday, April 3, 2013

One of the things I've become quite adept at is pinning one-handed on my iPad while I walk circles trying to soothe our colicky little girl. I spotted a pin by Karen Robertson the other day of a room done by two lovely friends, Kelly Grokulsky and Alex Gebicke.

They're two sweet Florida ladies and Kelly runs Grokulsky Interiors. All her spaces are so peaceful and relaxing - something I'm craving when my poor little lady is crying all day!

Today I'm loving the layered whites of this room by Whitney Fairchild. The warm wood tones and gilt juxtaposed against those gorgeous silver lamps - it brings it all together.

One of my favorite blogs is Belclaire House. I find myself pinning nearly everything Jennifer posts! This is a perfect example, I just love this classic and clean sitting room by Knight Carr & Company.

I am so enjoying the London apartment of Sofia and Niccolo Barattieri di San Pietro from Elle Decor. It doesn't look at all plain; the wall color is perfect for the space.

libraries

I really find these cavernous libraries comforting. When we finally stop moving, our poor future realtor is going to have to find a house for my books. In the spirit, some inspiring reading rooms.

cover up

The great value of looking at inspiration always seems to be in the details. For example, I was perusing online magazines and noticed luxuriant fabrics and furs draped over ottomans and tables. My favorite is this decadent drawing room of Château de Fleury. Kind of makes me wish I had picked up that bearskin I saw recently for an ottoman.

Or in Andrew Gn’s Paris Apartment. He rightly leaves no surface naked. Meow.
