fruits of the season

The other day we went pear picking in a nearby farming community here in Japan. Looking through the photos I took, they just feel like a perfect end to summer to me.

Photos by me, please credit if you share, thanks!

Hello Ann, I love orchards and fruit trees more than almost anything. Your photos from Japan are fascinating--the pear trees look very familiar, yet the background is so exotic.

Incidentally, those crisp Asian pears are my favorite fruit to add to bai mu-er; I have a few in the refrigerator now, although they don't have the advantage of being farm-fresh like yours.

Beautiful photos, Ann!! I love visiting country orchards and picking fruit this time of year when the weather cools down. Cheers!

Thanks so much you guys! Jim, we had a good laugh about Asian pears being just "pears" here. The Bosc and D'Anjou pears were not very tasty but it stands to reason that Asian pears are best enjoyed in Asia and European pears in Europe!!
