The great value of looking at inspiration always seems to be in the details. For example, I was perusing online magazines and noticed luxuriant fabrics and furs draped over ottomans and tables. My favorite is this decadent drawing room of Château de Fleury. Kind of makes me wish I had picked up that bearskin I saw recently for an ottoman.
Maybe it's a guy thing--I seem to prefer plain surfaces to having lots of fabric around, although those surfaces can still be luxurious--polished hardwood or that incredible black leather chair in the Gn apartment.
It was probably just as well to forgo the bear rug. I get more of a "non-PC" vibe than a "how luxurious" one from the Fleury example. --Road to Parnassus
